No.226   [Reply]

Hi, I just stumbled across the Touhou Fortress 2 Website, and I was linked here for trials. I love voice-acting, I'm a web (read: amateur) voice actor for Nico Nico Douga "webcomics" and such myself (bilingual), and I love Touhou! So I thought it'd be fun to try and audition...But I can't find the material! Can somebody please help? ^^;

Thanks a lot!

Sure, just go to http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=44532

There's five audition lines under each character's portrait, so just pick whoever you're interested in :)

This is it for tonight! I can't really use too much 'umph' in my voice right now because my dad's asleep, so my auditions may all sound kind of calm.

Trying for Yuka Kazami- she's still open I believe. I think my hit/pain/death sounds need some work. Critique is welcomed.

Okay, so I can't voice-act at all so I'm not even going to comment on that.

But what I -can- do is write. I read the Suika's lines and... wow. They're so bland and trying too hard to go HEY LOOK YOU'RE PLAYING A TOUHOU MOD IN CASE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE.

I had hope for the voice acting thing but after looking through this I just lost all faith in you lot. You have, what, three actresses and only one of them has their audition up on the board.

And she's only -okay-.

But that's just my opinion, so I digress. Your writing is awful.

I don't post this with the intent to troll(which I know it seems like) but because your writing is legitimately bad and needs a ton of work before you record it.

Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I read this all. :D

And yes, I'd rather not see memes plastered everywhere, but I would like the spirit of the character to be accurately portrayed and captured.

>> No.213

One more thing, they aren't always avoiding vulgarity. Utsuho calls Suika a drunken bitch.

>> No.214

>>212

Yes. But personally I(and all the other Touhou/TF2 people I know) would greatly prefer the spirit of the character be captured in the situation they're in.

Which is 1950's warfare.

>>213

I only heard Utsuho's voice audition and not the full lineset. :V

Here it is, with less sighing/breaths! Hope you like it~ XD

>> No.193

So that's why everyone was commenting on this.

Not bad. Not bad at all. I like how it sounds someone's gonna get...hurt, which is perfect

>> No.196

Agreed. Listening to this side-by-side with your previous audition, I notice a much more fitting "attitude" as it were.

>> No.197

=D That's great! I'm glad you like it o.o!

>> No.203

Just got to hear the retake, definitely good stuff!
Probably hearing the corresponding original lines then recording the Yuka ones will help smooth things out but yeah I like :D

>> No.204

Yeah, that would probably help =X And Thanks! =D

Have you come into the Steam chat group yet? It move alot faster than this board in terms of feedback and actually getting starting with the project.

It's free to get an account and all, you should definitely stop by if you haven't already :)

>> No.209

Sounds too monotone and forced for me..

Now with hit and death sounds! Hope you like them =X

No.121   [Reply]

It's probably better if we can have direct contact, so I'll suggest the voice actors get themselfes a steam account and join the steam groupchat. Emerge still hadn't told the group if he had decided on some parts yet, it might be better if he can speak to everyone of us at once to get things organized.

Building on Iku Fever's statements, we have yet to finalize any decisions in terms of who has what part. Auditions are still being accepted and placed under group review.

We would also really appreciate our prospective VAs to join us on our group's Steam chat room so as to give us another way to come into contact you that we may give you more personalized comments/notes/etc. URLs above.

This needs a bump, considering it's kind of important

>> No.202

Bumping this, mostly for the newer folks who sent us auditions

This board is iffy for communication, so if you'd pop up to meet with us face to face why, that'd be just grand.

It's simple, free, and it makes both our jobs 10 times easier. Hopefully we'll see you around
